Bill Hybels teams with Bono on African relief

In an unlikely pairing (at least on the face of it), megachurch founder and pastor Bill Hybels and U2's Bono have become fast friends and partners in an effort to alleviate (if not completely eradicate) the poverty, starvation, and AIDS that have wracked Africa for decades. It's a brilliant collaboration for God to concoct! Bill is a conservative, analytical, market-driven evangelical preacher from the Midwest and Bono is a drinking, swearing, Catholic/Protestant "mutt" of a single-named rock star. But they both have a passion for reaching the world.

Here, in eight parts, is the video presentation of Hybels interview of Bono for Willow Creek's Leadership Summit in August 2006. They discuss Bono's thoughts on grace, the church, and it's avoidance of the poor and sick in contrast to Christ's mandates on the subject. And Hybels counters with the necessity of working through the local church to have a lasting impact. It's good stuff!

You don't have to watch all eight parts at once but please watch it all when you can.
