FREE HUGS

Encore presentation. One of my favorite videos of all time. There are few things like a well-timed unconditional hug.

More Free Hugs Campaign videos here.

Also, you might have noticed the format change for this blog. While I liked the imagery of the old layout, this one has much better organization and clarity in handling the links and things in the margin. I only just noticed it's a blue version of the one Terri uses but what can you do.

Great video. At the beginning (I must admit) I thought, "Is this just a pervert in disguise?" My job has made me very cynical. If you worked where I work you would understand!

By the end, though, I thought...."This is just an awesome concept!"

I like the new format.

Terri: Thanks for the virtual hug!

Mike: I had the same reservations. Watching the other videos from around the world, you can see one of the biggest frustrations they have is that women respond a lot more frequently than men. Except when the huggers are really cute girls (Are we predictable or what?) So it can end up being a real test for guys. But I love the concept. They have lots of testimonies of people breaking down and saying that's the first hug they've had in ages. The first lady Juan hugs in that video had just recently lost her son.

I sat and cried while I watched it. I thought mainly of how sad it is that we touch each other so infrequently and perhaps so insincerely. Yes, I am a toucher and as you say, Johnny, there's nothing better than a really great hug. As believers I think we've become so afraid to touch because we don't want to be misunderstood that we have thrown out a very loving way to express the very presence of Christ. A Big Hug to you, Johnny, but since you won't be there Sunday it's just have to be via email! Consider yourself loved, my friend.

I've seen this before somewhere and loved it just as much second time around. Banning the hugs just boggles my mind.
Must say I come from a family that hugs all the time, so I'd hate to go a day without one.
